“I used to think that if I cared about anything, I would have to care about everything and I’d go stark raving mad.” – Henry, “Ever After”

a place to give up

Hold up there you go again
Puttin on that smile again
Even though I know you’ve had a bad day
Doin this and doin that
Always puttin’ yourself last
A whole lotta give and not enough take

But you can only be strong so long before you break…

So fall go on and fall apart
Fall into these arms of mine
I’ll catch you every time you fall
Go on and lose it all
Every doubt every fear every worry every tear
I’m right here
Baby fall

Forget about the world tonight
All that’s wrong and all that’s right
Lay your head on my shoulder let it fade away

And if you wanna let go baby it’s okay

Fall go on and fall apart
Fall into these arms of mine
I’ll catch you every time you fall
Go on and lose it all
Every doubt, every fear, every worry, every tear
I’m right here
Baby fall

Hold on hold on hold on to me…

Fall go on and fall apart
Fall into these arms of mine
I’ll catch you every time you fall
Go on and lose it all
Every doubt, every fear, every worry, every tear
I’m right here
Baby fall

Well, I took the plunge and finally bought a computer. It took me hours to decide to even bid for it on Ebay, but I did and I won. It should be on its way this week, so I will hopefully be working from home by next week or the week after. This is bittersweet, as I may have mentioned before. Because of eventually switching my work shift to 7-3:30 once I work from home, I will not be able to keep my other job at BonTon. I’m the first to admit working in retail is hardly great most of the time, but I have become part of a community of people and gotten used to regular customers. It will be sad.

On the up side, once I switch to day shift, I can join church choir and attend Wed night service, which I have been desperately missing since I took this job. I can also attend Barnes and Noble book club meetings, which, oddly, I am really looking forward to. My attempt to start reading again a few weeks ago has failed and I haven’t kept up with the books I started. I’m determined to change this.

Also, incase you were wondering, Mae is doing quite well. We are really warming up to each other. She’s now 2 lbs 11 oz, about a pound heavier than 4 weeks ago. She’s quite adorable. Of course, my house looks like a continual mess because of all the card board boxes and toys on the floor that Mae loves, but it’s worth it to have her.

Dad called last night and said our dog, Misty, had to have surgery. Apparently the poor girl’s uterus was inflamed and hurting her quite badly. Thankfully, she made it through fine and should be home by Tuesday. I do miss her tons. Animals pull on my heart for some reason.

Well, that’s all for today. Off to work!

You’re always throwing kisses from the sky April 19, 2007

Mountain tops peek through
This is where I see you
I’ve never seen a clearer blue
This is where I see you
-Bethany Dillon, “Airplane”

A “star” fell from the sky tonight as I was driving home. Sometimes they fall so fast, you barely see them, but this one lasted at least a full second or two and I laughed aloud in sheer delight. It reminded me of another time God sent a star to me just when I needed it. It was during a midnight trek to BBC. Often, my Lover’s ways of loving are so beautifully simple that my breath catches and I forget everything else. It prompted me to drive out to Charlotte tonight, which I did, and just enjoy the solitude and peacefulness of the water…take a breath, if you will. What a blessing.

You know me April 13, 2007

“You chart the path ahead of me and tell me where to stop and rest. Every moment you know where I am…You both precede and follow me…You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.” – Psalm 139: 3, 5, 10

I can rest because He knows me.
